TTP223 Touch sensor MUST use finger?

Is TTP223 Touch sensor must use finger to touch?

Will the sensors response if a ball dropped down and touched the sensor?

If the ball is made of an electrically conducting material it might work. The touch sensor detects a changing capacitance so the object that touches must influence that. As the human body is kind of a salt water ballon it does change the capacitance a little bit and that is detected.

A tennis ball zero reaction, a rubber ball zero reaction when dropped but reacted when i was holding the ball.
Metal objects, small tweezers maybe 1 on 10 falls give a signal, large tweezers around half of the drops give signal, so a ball wrapped in tinfoil might work.
Good luck!!
