I have my project on "E-Home and building automation" in which i have to move curtains and turn TV and lights on and off by using Arduino.For curtains I have used DC motors but i have to use a relay for lights and TV.I am not able to connect the devices through relay.please guide me to do so.and please give me the block diagrams of connection and explain me from some basics..

Make sure you read and understand: "Normally Open' and "Normally Closed" and "Common" connections.

There are low-cost relay boards available with 2,4, or 8 relays...
