I decided to give TVout a try, and ran it on my Arduino Uno. The picture keeps scrolling downwards, and it tends to shake from side to side. I've tried it on two diferrent (NTSC) televisions as of yet. I've tried all of the resistor tricks, but it does not help. I have noted a few odd things.
#1: Touching the Vid cable (bare) will cause most of the shaking to go away. #2: Disconnecting the Sync cable does not affect any of the symptoms. #3: The value of the resistor between GND and VID doesn't matter.
Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: Forgot to say that I found this guy's post. I do not have any jumpers on my board (which was his fix).
The scottish highlands thing is a reference to Spy Fox, actually. Its pretty obscure. 8)
I can't say how old the TV is exactly, but I've got two fairly modern Sony Trinitron TVs and one of those ancient TVs with a VCR player underneath. I'll go test it out on my friend's HDTV this afternoon then.
I've soldered everything into a neat little through-hole board. The problems were the same until I changed_NTSC_LINE_STOP_VSYNC to 3 in libraries/TVout/spec/video_properties.h. The video became very dim, but the picture looked good. I changed it back to 3, expecting flicker, but the video was dim and steady. 2 had the same results. I know that the file is changing, but how do I make it brighter?
