Two 4x20 LCD to Arduino Mega

Hello;

I would ask if possible to connect two IIC/I2C/TWI Serial 2004 20x4 LCD Module Shield to Arduino Mega in order two get more displayed info.

I know it is possible to connect as much as wanted for 2x16 LCD but not sure about 4x20.

Please advise.

Many of the I2C displays come with I2C backpacks that have solder jumpers that can set alternative I2C addresses. Set them to different addresses and use those addresses in the display constructors. I like the hd44780 library for I2C displays.

Yep. Many do.

Except this one! :roll_eyes:

I solved it.

I use two I²C Address by soldering A1, and connect both LCD’s to ASD and SCL and it works perfectly

A0-A1-A2-HEX Address
1 - 1 - 1 - 0x27
0 - 1 - 1 - 0x26

#include <Wire.h>
#include <LiquidCrystal_I2C.h>

// Set the LCD address to 0x27 and 0x26 for a 20 chars and 4 line display

LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd1(0x26, 20, 4);
LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd2(0x27, 20, 4);

So that old LCM1602 backpack does have address jumpers?

I couldn't see them on the photo and seriously don't fancy rooting through all my old storage bins to find one. :astonished:

Some modules most certainly do not though they are getting rare. :sunglasses:
