Two arduino cnc shields

I have this set up.

I have two of these. First I’m wanting to combine them together and have another z+ to control my laser set up. I have both a cnc with attached laser. My problem is I’m constantly having to switch wires around to get the set up I want. What I would like is to run two
Different firmwares on both and place a power switch on/off/on to determine which one I’m running. Is it possible to Y split the spindle motors and depending on which board has power is the one controlling the spindles. Example: Board A: Cnc set up with Grbl 1.1h with self squaring runs cnc when powered. Switch to Board B: laser control which runs grbl 1.1f when powered. The reason is why I’d like to do this is. Constant switching on speeds and settings and switching wires drives me nuts. Or is it possible to hook both arduinos cnc shields together to make one big board with more open pins to use. It sounds confusing but hopefully someone understands what I’m trying to do. Any suggestions welcome

Simple answer is NO you cannot combine both boards !

What you seem to want to do is two quite different tasks.
That would normally require two machines.

Here I do that type of work on the same machine but have the laser and spindle on different sleds to be able to mount one or the other,

Then I either use LASER GRBL for laser work or UGS for cnc work.

Well I guess I can just run both on same machine, and disable self squaring to free up the pwm control and use some macro buttons for changing settings.
