Okay, After my apartment was burglarized, I began working on a security system. Right now most of it is breadboarded, but I have only one crystal. I Tried to run the two MCU's in parallel off of the crystal with no success. I googled (before someone picks about that) and found a similar instance where someone asked about 2 PIC16F's and was told that the master MCU gets the xtal, and then the slave is connected from the masters clock-out pin to the slaves clock-in pin. I searched the atmel documentation, and googled extensively for the clock-in pin, finding only the clock out pin ultimately. So, I need help... I have 2 crystals, but am short for its connections by ONE 22pf CAPACITOR. I have zero money for the next 3 weeks before someone suggests buying a cap, and my apartment was broken into again yesterday. SO PLEASE HELP!!!! 
P.S. the two atmega 644's are off of my sanguino boards and have the arduino bootloader. and I am having another problem... I am using linux, and the IDE wount let me program my boards, it tells me that the STK500 was not found... I am using IDE 16...
