Two Batteries to Power Arduino Uno R3, Adafruit CC3000 and Motor Shield V2.3

Hi Everyone,
I've recently bought an Arduino Uno R3, Adafruit CC3000 WiFi Shield and Adafruit Motorshield 2.3 for my Stealth Rover Project a hobby grade R/C Car which is converted to run via WiFi using the WiFi Shield and the Motor Shield but i'm having problems regarding the power i'm using a DFRobot Lithium Polymer Battery (2200mAh 7.4V) which is connected directly to the arduino and i've noticed that the battery runs out pretty fast and i'm wondering if i could use a Ni-Cd 7.2V 1300mAh as the second battery which will be hooked to the adafruit motor shield's external power

The motor i'm using is a Mabuchi Silver Can RS-540 Motor and the Servo i'm using is a Futaba S3003

I would use the larger capacity battery on the part that requires more power which I would guess would be the motors.

LiPo 7.4V 2200mAh to Motor Shield
Ni-Cd 7.2V 1300mAh to Arduino and WiFi
