I'm just wondering if I would be allowed to have two accounts here on this forum - one for personal inquiries, and one for business inquiries? Would that get me banned, or would you allow this for me?
- YES
- NO

Aren’t you like 15 year old and a one man (probably not even registered) company?
Companies should pay for engineering time ➜ We tend to direct companies’ requests to the Jobs and Paid Consultancy forum since volunteer time is meant to help more personal projects for fun or those wanting to learn. Solving industrial challenges is a different aim.
So I would vote for single account only and be professional for your business needs - but I’m not running this forum so not for me to say.
You can go look me up on ABN finder. This is my ABN for my business
I only make $15 an hour - I'd be broke in no time!
Good for you - I was wrongly assuming you would not !
Don’t you think people contributing their time to help you make money should be paid too ? Slavery is something from the past and abusing the generosity of helpers here is frowned upon.
A business that aims to make profits by using advice from volunteers does not have a very good business model.
I'm happy to pay for advice for my business, but it won't be much. More "sweat shop" rates than a "salary" as such. A start up business doesn't have masses of capital to "hire" employees - hence the reason most start up businesses are one-man bands.
That is good. Rude users aren't much fun to help.
Armed thugs are not marching towards your door intent on forcing you into laboring over PCB designs. Please tone down the hyperbole.
I'm 17 next month
You probably have to learn a bit about doing business too.
I command your willingness to be entrepreneurial, that’s good spirit at your age and better than being a coach potato:) , but build upon sound business practices. You can be smart about cash allocation but you can’t run a business and necessary liability and support if you can’t be in charge of your product or services.
If you don’t depend on this money to live, I would recommend to invest as much time as you can in improving your formal education and skills and only worry about the money later.
If you need the money (I had to work to pay for my day to day when I was a student so I would understand the need) you can do other jobs that are within your current skills - personal maths lessons, baby sitting (plenty of time to read or practice when kids are sleeping), create your YouTube channel about your passion (time consuming and reward may vary) or other line of work and occasionally sell some technical work if it’s within reach and does not involve maintenance or liability.
Once you master your technical domain, you can sell your expertise at a higher rate and you prepared yourself for a future career in this industry
My 2cts
Fair.
Was trying to get the point across but can see this can hurt sensitivity of some.
The short answers are "no" and "rarely". (Though I find your use-case intriguing.)
Even we moderators are generally restricted to one additional account we can use for testing the forum.
I understand. Thank you for taking the time to answer this question. I will just make it known in my first post every time it is a business question that I am asking.
Yes, that is good advice. This is my only source of income at this point - thankfully I still live at home. I am trying to get a job in the meantime, but I'd love this to become my full time job.
PS. I definitely won't be math tutoring - I don't enjoy math unless I can see tangible results (ie. electronics and woodwork). I'm that kid who ripped his algebra book up in grade 9
If you ever change your mind, let me know

Doing a lot better for yourself than a lot of 16 year olds I have known. Good on you, kid.
I might have a 2nd account that I set up to see what my posts/etc looked like to someone who wasn’t me. (With a different email address; how would anyone tell?). I haven’t used it in a long time, and I’m pretty sure I never used it to post…
I encourage would-be entrepreneurs to pick a professional-sounding but relatively unique username and use it to build a reputation that looks good when potential employers go to search for your works. (Forums+emails+GitHub, etc).
“CowboyDaniel” isn’t awful, but it’s not great, either. (My kids were encouraged to pick rather random and non-identifying usernames on email services, which was fine when they were teens. But applying for jobs with a username based on a Pokémon is less than ideal…)
Yes, agreed.
Also true. But I set up this account without thinking about ever using it for business. I was going to set up a business account with my registered business name (Outback Hut), but it isn't allowed.
You can change your username if that would be helpful
