Ubuntu minicom doesn't get any print-out-info from Arduino Uno

Hi, all:

Environment: Sparkfun Arduino Uno Ubuntu 12.10 (USB connecting)

The serial port I'm monitoring /dev/ttyACM0

Minicom got no info from Arduino Uno, but only the following words are displayed:

Welcome to minicom 2.6.1

OPTIONS: I18n Compiled on May 1 2012, 10:55:27. Port /dev/ttyACM0

Press CTRL-A Z for help on special keys

So, is there a command line way to monitor the serial port /dev/ttyACM0, which actually connects the Arduino Uno and my hosting Ubuntu 12.10 ?

Cheers Pei

For some reason that happens also if I use minicom. I was able to use picocom, perhaps you could try that. Must it be in a command line in a terminal ? I use GtkTerm.

I like screen, it allows you to detach and reattach a session and is not limited to serial. I wonder however whether your problem is just that your sketch is not writing to Serial. The blink sketch, for example, doesn't, so it would give you an empty monitor screen.

Hi, Thanks Erdin:

Not every Linux comes with a GUI, therefore, command line in terminal is a must here at my place.
