Ultra sonic sensore

hello every one,

i am new to ardunio but not new to coding i code PHP websites and help out at ZPanel
i must say the languages are VERY simmalar! If you want to learn another code do PHP you will know it in no time :D

Any way one of the sport i do is target shooting. This simply shooting indoors and a target. I shoot here http://www.wigantsc.org.uk/.

I am quite intrested and making like an automatic card picture

what i mean is when a bullet is shot and it goes through the card i want to detect where about the bullet when through the card and display it on a screen :D
complexe hey :p

so i through of this
ULTAR SONIC SENSOR
|
V
###########

CARD # <-----ULTAR SONIC SENSOR

###########

and like cross it
the untra sonic sensors can read distances
i know that and i know the size of the card

so i should be able to work it out.
BUT
my question is can Ultra sonic detect an object the speed of an bullet is there a good Ultra sonic sensore for this job?
1,080 ft/s
(330 m/s)
:s

p.s
i am doing this for free of courcse or else i would not aks for help :p

if not is there any thing that can detect a bullet
what about trainglating piezo tranducters?
cant wait to here what you say my dads responce would be GET THE DATER SHEET lol :astonished:

my question is can Ultra sonic detect an object the speed of an bullet

No it can't.
Ultra sonic sensors work at 40KHz work out how long it takes to do one cycle and the. Work out how far a bulet can travel in that time. It will not be in range fast enough.
There is someone using sound sensors (microphones) to triangulate the position of a bulet on a target, do a search to find the post, it was less than a week ago.

is there umm cool i actually did search the fourms but could not find anything
do you know what section it is in i just can find it  sorry
sorry everyone i hate when i have to resolve all ready answer question lol sorry

thanks think i have found it
