ultrasonic pulse velocity tester

hi ...
this is Testing concrete components by ultrasonic The pulse velocity in a material
can i make it by arduino . ?

yes you can,

what have you tried sofar?

Can you tell a lot more about the project?

  • sensors in mind
  • calibration,
  • what the application should do etc.

How about the legal stuff?
If you measure it with an DIY- Arduino- and the building collapse because there was a software error.
How do you intend to cope with that.

I do not know from where can I find this sensor .. what are his circute

Graduation Project .... no more

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) testing of concrete is based on the pulse velocity method to provide information on the uniformity of concrete, cavities, cracks and defects. The pulse velocity in a material depends on its density and its elastic properties which in turn are related to the quality and the compressive strength of the concrete. It is therefore possible to obtain information about the properties of components by sonic investigations.
Proceq offers the most versatile instrument for ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) testing of concrete – the Pundit Lab, the newest member of the famous Pundit family. Along with the traditional transit time and pulse velocity measurement, this ultrasonic concrete testing equipment offers path length measurement, perpendicular crack depth measurement and surface velocity measurement.

I cannot remember having seen a concrete expert here on the forum..

That said, have you googled "ultrasound sensor for concrete"? (I assume you have access to google)

gave me half a million hits and the first 5 were already really interesting

in some order:

Thank you for your reply ...
I do not want an expert in Civil Engineering ..
Scientific side I was doing and put codes ..
I just want to know where to find this sensor. How put it in arduino

Ultrasonic transducer is designed for rugged use on construction sites and similar outdoor environments.This transducer is built to both send and receive ultrasonic waves and convert them to a voltage output.

So that means you have to do something with analogRead()

void setup()
{
  Serial.begin(115200);
}

void loop()
{
  int x = analogRead(A0); // assume sensor connected to A0;
  float voltage = x * 5.0 / 1023;

  Serial.print("Voltage:\t");
  Serial.println(voltage, 3);  // 3 decimals;

  delay(1000);  // don't use delay in your final code
 }

your turn to come up with an electric schema and improved prototype code

thank u sir ..
i Requested buy it from the site ..
but now what is I/O of the sensor ..
what is the skchment of the sender and resever in arduino .....
Thank you again :*

It is on the website,

Do not know what you mean with skchment

I mean how Link the sender and Receiver to pins of adruino :disappointed_relieved:

no any Reply :frowning:

Did anyone ever try this? I am curious if I could apply this UPV testing to asphalt. And it would be great if I could design and build this in house.
