Ultrasonic Sensor Kept At longer distance (Approx 20M) from Uno

Hello Everyone..
Greetings

I am doing a water level Indicator project that requires a ultrasonic sensor (HC SR04) kept 20 meters atop a Water tank away from Uno with constant monitoring.

My problem

  1. does a distance will pose problem for me if Sensor is kept very far?
  2. Will Echo and Trigger signals die out in middle if wire length is too long?

Please suggest a solution..

I' try with TP (datacable).. (1.st pair GND, 2nd. pair Ucc, 3rd. pair trig+gnd, last pair echo + gnd)

You might be a bit interested in doing an internet search on the words "waterproof ultra sonic sensor."

How wide is your tank?

If the tank is not wide enough you might have problems with the ultrasound field of view. You could have some bouncing and echoes from the lateral part of the container.

I would look for something with a narrow field of view to avoid the echos. These sensors have a narrow field of view of 3 degrees, so it might be fine for your application. Some of them can go up to 60m
