hello everybody

so i am a total newbie to arduino and when i saw this example on how to connect the hc srf04 to the arduino i knew i had to try it but when i connect the vcc to 5v and ground to ground the arduino switches off any idea why this happens

It sounds like you're shorting the supply.
Do you have a schematic?

well the its pretty simple i connect the ground to the ground on the uno and vcc to 5v but the arduino shuts of any thing i can do to solve this ??

i'm sorry but arduino won't allow as the files too large

So make it smaller.
Any graphics package should allow you to resize an image.

You are doing something wrong, what you say will not happen for your sensor is OK and you have wired it correctly. There is no point saying you have.

Hi,
If you are using Windows, put your image into PAINT and resize it.
You need to attach it in REPLY not QUICK REPLY.
