ultrasonic sensor

i want to cover the ultrasonic sensor with a plywood, is it okay to attach a magnet at back?

You didn't provide enough information to be definitive but in general:

  1. Plywood in front of an ultrasonic sensor will block the signal
  2. Plywood behind the sensor is OK
  3. Magnets do not effect an ultrasonic sensor.

Hope this helps.

i want to cover it but leaving a hole for the two circles. ok thank you for your reply. helps a lot

When choosing the size for the hole, you must account for the shape of the ultrasonic "beam".

This link should give you an idea on the req'd hole shape.

If the hole is on the small side, the sensor might still work but it will loose signal. This means you will need a larger target to get a usable reflection.
