I am completely new to Arduino and I want guidance on how to go by in my project: I have a 40kHz ultrasonic receiver and I want to see the signal received on my computer using Arduino. It should be a bit accurate, what do I need to do/use?

Maybe you're confusing "echoes" with "feedback".
Try not to do that.
