Unable to boot Mac since ESP8266 (maybe CH340 kext issue?)

I plugged an ESP8266 into my Mac (Sierra) yesterday and my computer crashed. Since then, I have not been able to get past the login progress bar for any user on the computer.

Best I can explain is probably a CH340 driver that I used in the past that I didn’t remove when upgrading the OS.

I removed usbserial.kext from Library/Extensions, renamed my Library/Extensions to something else, rebuilt my kext cache, ran csrutil disable, reset the RAM, tried logging in with shift, all the things they tell you to do - still no luck.

Anyone know what I can do (besides wiping the drive, of course)?

Thank you!

No idea about Macs.

Maybe CH341SER_MAC No longer works in macOS Sierra - Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum is relevant to your situation

Thank you. Doesn't look like they found a solution.
