Unable to configure the Crypto Chip on MKR WIFI 1010

Hi,

First, my config:

Arduino MKR WIFI 1010 bought on Amazon last week
MacBook Pro 15"
macOS Catalina 10.15.2
Arduino 1.8.10
Create Agent 1.1.251-318de37

Uploading sketches on the MKR1010 works fine, I can display available WIFI networks and also been able to connect to my own, that part just works fine !

BUT:

when I want to setup an IoT board using Arduino Cloud - Getting started I have always the same error at the step about configuring the Crypto Chip:

Step CONFIGURE BOARD : OPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG

=> We weren't able to configure the Crypto Chip.
Please try again. If this problem persists, you may write us on the Forum.

I've read almost all threads here in the forums about Crypto Chip and tried so much things...
I have tried almost 20 or 30 times: It just never works!

  • with or without an USB 2.0 HUB,
  • trying each USB port,
  • trying several micro USB cable
  • before and after updating the firmware
  • after rebooting

well, I don't know what to do else!! :frowning:

Any marvelous idea ?! THANKS...

FA

The MKR boards come with their pins inserted into anti-static foam. This foam is conductive so you need to remove it before using the board.

Try removing anything you have connected to pins 11 and 12 on your board.

Make sure the board is not sitting on anything conductive that might be shorting out the pins.

Of course I tried that as it's the most asked thing to try to solve the problem, but nothing on the board which is on my wood desk

But thanks

I was hoping there would be a solution to this issue as I am having the same problem. I cannot get past the Crypto Chip Configuring error screen.

And now, it doesn't even try. It immediately goes to the error screen. Earlier, it showed that it was attempting to configure it.

I am having same issue. When fails, error says to retry or reconnect USB or rest button.
If all fails, that says to contact the forum.

I rebooted my Mediacom Modem this morning, and the configuration was successful. Maybe my connection was just too slow?
