Unable to load Program to arduino uno (Board at COM1 is not available) win 8.1

Hi everyone on the forum.

I bought an arduino uno. I installed Sketch on my windows 8.1 lenovo laptop. But i am not able to load the program into my board.
I also went into the windows device manager and checked that it is detecting as a port "USB serial" on com4 (Please see the attachments).
But the sketch> tools>ports option is inactive. (please see the attachment)

whenever I connect my arduino, i get the LED glow on the board and also the devicemanager detects a device as shown in my attachment.

In the device manager, it shows "Prolific USB to serial COM port (COM4)" (snapshot attached)
But when i try to load the program to the board it says an error message "Board at COM1 is not available".
I also tried changing the com port from default COM4 to COM1. but got the same error message.

I also tried adding old arduino drivers from the installation folder, but could not succeed.

I dont know how to go forward with this issue.
I would greatly appreciate if someone helps me to fix this issue.

My laptop configuration.
I am using a lenovo ideapad with
Windows 8.1
2 USB 3.0 ports
1 USB 2.0 port
1 Serial port
1 HDMI port
I also connect my
Thank you somuch for your response in advance

From where?

Either you bought a knock-off Arduino Uno, or this device isn't the Arduino.

No Arduino uses a Prolific chipset. If your board has the CP2102 (guessing its that one), you'll need to get the drivers from Prolific.
