Unable to start using Arduino

Recently acquired an old unopened Starter Kit from a few years ago to mess with and having issues getting connected to it.

I have been unable to upload BLINK into the UNO and received the following output

I have confirmed that the correct board is selected and tried both 1.8.3 and 1.6.2 for the board manager. I have tried to burn the bootloader and received the following:

Tried the reset button on the board, which causes the L light to blink very rapidly 3 times, followed by a quick 3 blinks, followed by a quick 2 blinks. Following this the L light blinks on and off regularly and slowly.

Not sure how best to proceed, should I go back farther on the board versioning or is the board not working due to its age?

The error is showing it’s trying to connect over com port 1 . Your Arduino won’t be connected to that - look under tools/ports to find the correct port.

If the port is not there, and if you starter kit is not genuine Arduino it may need a specific driver install . CH340 ?

Take a look at the trouble shooting guide ....
