Hi Everyone. I recently ran into an issue where I am unable to upload any code to any arduino device (at least any I have) when I am using a USBC to USBA adapter. I've tried multiple adapters, multiple USB cables, multiple codes, multiple arduino boards, two different computers and even multiple at mega chips.
I'm mainly on a M1 MacBook Air so I only have USB-C on it. I use an adapter to connect to standard USB devices and it's fine in every other situation. I took the converter over to my work computer which has both USBC and standard USB. When using the converter, it didn't work on my work PC but when I removed the converter and went straight into a standard USB port, it worked fine. I even bough a new converter thinking that was the issue. Nope. Same thing. Weird thing is was that I've been doing Arduino on the MacBook USBC for quite a while now and never had an issue then all of a sudden it just doest work.
I did a little forum searching and no one is coming up with a similar issue. Closest thing I could find was when someone upgraded to Mac OS Venture from Big Sir (which I just recently did), they were having a similar issue but theirs was that Ventura had some bug where it was deleting the boot loader whenever they tried to program but that wouldn't explain why I have the same issue on my Windows computer when using the USBC converter but not with a standard USBC port.
