I'm on a windows 8.1 laptop. I've downloaded the IDE, when I plugged in the robot, it thought the robot was a mouse initially. Now I went into device manager and updated the driver software, this is where I think I made a mistake. I could not find arduino.inf in the file explorer when prompted to pick a driver, so I clicked something like "pick driver from drivers on this computer" and the only one available was "arduino robot" I clicked this and it installed it onto the robot.
When I try to download the program "blink" from examples, I get this error message: "avrdude: usbdev_open(): did not find any USB device "usb"".
Hardware wise, it is connected to my computer with its USB cable. This is an arduino UNO with a display on top, the Arduino bot kit. It doesnt have 4 batteries in it.
