Uni GPS project

Hello,

I am hoping that someone can help me.

I have a final year project in college to do, and I am looking to design and build a personal tracking system with a few extra features.

I was using a PIC initially, with Flowcode, but I am getting nowhere, so now, I am going to use what I wanted to use in the first place, the Arduino. But can someone please advise me on a good, and reasonably priced GPS module (as I am buying this myself).

I have been looking about but an just not sure what will work well with the Arduino, as I am still new to it ...I have only been playing around with a few basic programs.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give me.

Sean,

I have a complete interactive GPS tracker project you can use as a starting point. It records GPS coordinates etc on the onboard 32KB EEPROM of the Phi-1 shield and uploads to PC when connected via USB. The GPS module is a popular model with well-documented projects and codes. The entire project is less than $100 if you already have an arduino, so it should be reasonable.

Hello!

That's fantastic, thank you very much!

This is pretty much excatly what I am looking to do in the GPS part of my project, this this will be a great help in getting me on the road.

Thanks

Seán

And as for parts...

A bit of looking around on those sites that show the various parts and pieces can usually be inspirational.

Also dipmicro.com I'm sure tomorrow my package from them will arrive at my door step as usual. Their parts have best price.
