Uninstall IDE issue Windows 7

Hello,

I can't uninstall Arduino IDE from Windows 7 control panels. I get an error message like: Arduino is still open, close it to uninstall.

The problem is that it's not open anywhere and I keep getting the message even after a fresh reboot.

The entry in Windows is Arduino IDE 2.0.0-rc8

However I also have the most recent version of the IDE which I'd like to keep.

Can you help?
Thank you

Hi @omaroski. The Arduino IDE developers are tracking this bug here:

Some workarounds are shared by other users in the discussion at the link above.

I had to uninstall the new IDE but now the old version (2.0.0) prevents to install the 2.0.4 again, there's something malicious about it. What do you suggest?

I just manually deleted the 2.0.0 files and now the most recent version seems to go on with the installation as it should. Let's hope for the best!

No... just your paranoia. Also, Win-7 is no longer supported.
Arduino 2.x really is intended to much newer OS versions:

There are bug reports on Win10 too, which paranoia are you talking about? :joy:

Most recent version of the IDE works like a charm on Win7
