Unlink my account from google

I am closing my google account for reasons. My account in this forun is linked to my google account. Is there any way to change my account to log in using my email and password? I already tried the "forgot password" option, but I got no email :-/

Thank you. That article shows how to remove the oAuth authorization from google side. What I need is to remove the oAuth account from the forum and create a user/password based account.

I'm not entirely sure that's possible. Is there any specific reason you don't want to just delete your account and create a new one?

I want to keep my user name ("yecarri") and my old posts linked to my account.

If you delete your current account, you may be able to use the same username (will not be in use anymore) and you can possibly go back to your posts and "watch" them, as if you had made them. I know that you won't be able to go back and edit posts, but I don't think google will hand over its prized accounts that easily

You can add an alternate (second) email address to your profile and use that. Click your avatar (right top), in the right column click the "person" symbol (last icon) and next select Preferences.

Once done you should be able to use the new email address.

There is probably a second reference (for OAuth2) to your gmail account under "Associated Accounts". You can not change it and I do not know what the implications are if you delete your google account.

I think that you will have to wait for @pert to advise further; he has more insight than most (or any) of us and he is the admin.

Sorry, but I simply don't have time to look into this. You'll have to figure it out on your own @YEcarri.

And then promote that address to be the primary.
