Uno and Firmata problem

Hello,

I have a problem getting the Firmata_test programme running on my Uno R3. I am running Arduino 1.0.4 and StandardFirmata version 2.2. The problem is as per the following note on the Firmata home page:

Versions of arduino previous to 0022 (December 2010) have a baud rate error on Uno which corrupts communication. The Firmata Test program can open the serial port, and the receive counter at the bottom of the windows keeps increasing, but nothing works. If you're having this problem, you can fix it by just upgrading to a recent Arduino software version.

As I am running all the latest versions of the software, there appears to be another problem. Any help welcome. Many thanks.

Liam

How do you know? What is talking to the Arduino? What is the Arduino doing/not doing?

I am running Arduino 1.0.4 on the Uno R3 and have loaded StandardFirmata version 2.2 on the Uno. On my laptop I have loaded the latest verions of Firmata_Test from the following site via the Firmata homepage:

http://www.pjrc.com/teensy/firmata_test/firmata_test.exe

On the laptop I see the screen shown on:

http://www.firmata.org/wiki/Main_Page

However, none of the buttons work and the analog signals are constantly scrolling with the Rx data (bottom right hand corner) constantly increasing. Firmata describe this exact problem as having been fixed:
