Is it possible to configure an UNO so it appears as an AVRISP MKII to Atmel studio?. I want to use Atmel for legacy projects, and don't want to buy more MKII devices.
"more MKii devices" Why would you need more than 1? Plug it on, program the part, remove it.
Not really intended to be embedded within your project.
What other Atmel parts do you plan to use?
I am teaching programming, and currently using an old AVR development kit. I want to update the course to use arduino, but would prefer not to buy several MKII since I have a number of Unos here.
I suggest you use Nick Gammon's Arduino as ISP sketch then for loading bootloaders, and then download via USB/Serial
