uno + micro servo (noob help)

have just got myself a starter kit and a few extras, complete noob, just wondering if i now need a sensor shield to be able to run the micro servo or can it be hooked up either straight to the uno or via the breadboard?

kind of hoping so as i dont really wan to have to spend anymore more £ on it this month

You can run a servo direct from the arduino board. If it takes a lot of current you might have to supply it with a sepreate power supply though.
