UNO R3 NOT DETECTED ANY MORE

MY UNO WAS WORKING GREAT .. BUT
SUDDENLY IT IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY MY PC...
I CHANGED MY CABLE , TRIED ON OTHER PC BUT NO COMPORT , OR NO "NEW DEVICE FOUND"

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ?

yea power LED is on. also
13 led is continuously on

i m planing to buy ARDUINO DUE,
can i program UNO using DUE ??
bcoz due has many RX/TX pairs..

swap out the 328 chip with another 328 chip with a known good bootloader on it ,thats what i would do

Could you give a link to a 328 chip with a "known good bootloader on it"? I'm having the same problem as koolasg. All of a sudden my computer doesn't recognize my Uno Rev 3.

Problem solved...I bought a new UNO and new cable and the computer recognized it. A box popped up on the screen and asked if I wanted to use COM7...I said yes and it worked.

Have you restarted your computer?
I had this happen to me last year, restarted my computer and it worked fine.

i dont know where you are so use your nearest supplier
