UnoR4Wifi not connecting to PC (overvolted 5v pin)

Obligatory apology prior to this, I'm a complete noob to anything arduino/electric engineering.

TLDR: Supplied 12.7V directly to 5V pin on R4 Wifi, burning smell from near USB port popped up, and I can't get the board to show up when connecting to PC. Board still has power from USB port and is running the yellow LED blinking sketch, but there's nothing from the TX or RX LEDs.

Is the board dead? Or is there any hope that I've just been connecting stuff wrong

I just got an R4 Wifi for a little project with servos, and I (stupidly) supplied 12.7v directly to the 5v pin on the board as I was trying to emulate a tutorial online that was using a different battery setup. There was immediately a burning smell from near the USB C port, so I unplugged the battery immediately. As I was tinkering with it while IDE was downloading on my PC, I don't know if the board would have connected to my PC beforehand; now, however, I cannot get it to be recognized by IDE and it doesn't show up under any ports in Device Manager.

I've tried a bunch of different stuff (updating drivers, manually adding the port, etc.) but nothing works. I'm guessing I fried it, but is there anything else that I can try before writing it off?

The board is dead.

I'm afraid so

As a self admitted noob stick to projects that are powered from your computer via the USB cable.
