Update IDE from 1.8.X to 2.1.1 (Linux)

Hello,

how can I upgrade IDE on Ubuntu Linux (20.04 LTS) from 1.8.19 to latest 2.1.1?
I want to keep all settings (additional boards, libraries, sketches).

I didn't find an appropriate HowTo. The AppImage is just running, but no old settings were copied. The ZIP-file doens't contain an install.sh oder an update.sh.
