Hello. I am new to this forum and for some time I have been searching the internet for an opportunity to upgrade my car wash with chips.
This installation uses classic buttons and a small display, searching the internet I found some very successful projects that caught my attention. I want to know how difficult it is to achieve such a Plexiglass interface with touch screen buttons

I want to add a matrix led 126-64 that has the function of countdown timer as well as the program used as in the videos above. The idea is the following: I want to connect the arduino module to the 4 electrical wires that currently lead to that display without affecting the other components of the washing system: coin acceptor and the 2 electronic boards.
I am waiting for advice and guidance if I can connect the arduino system with matrix led instead of the display that is currently installed.

Ask the guy in that video what buttons he used that can distinguish between being covered in foam and a finger.

Without having any information on what that four wires are, what signals, etc - well you can probably connect them to an Arduino but whether you can do something useful with it, or whether it will just smoke the Arduino, that's anybody's guess.
