I use Arduino for students at my school, but uploading programs doesn’t work sometimes. It doesn’t seem to be the hardware, as I have tried both a chrome book and a laptop. I am not using the actual software, but the online editor. I use Arduino Uno boards.
Specifically, if you go on the Arduino online editor, there is an arrow button pointing to the left, beside a check mark button that says “verify and save” . In laptops students bring, the button is not grayed out and is clickable. On school equipment, it is grayed out and doesn’t do anything when clicked.
Help is appreciated. Thank!
Edit: Arduino Online Editor Link Arduino Cloud
Hi @SuperWaffles,
are you sure the Arduino Create Plugin is working properly on those computers? Usually that button is disabled when you don't have communication with it, or the board is not recognized
It may also indicate your IT department may need to open some ports to allow the plugin to get through.
If the plugin works at home but not at school it is something to certainly look at.
Well I am on a school pc and I am getting the same problem, so I guess that probably means that some schools don't let their pcs communicate over usb ports or something....
(That's a pain in the neck)

Its not usually the USB ports but NETWORK settings that the school needs to allow.
Just to be clear.
Your IT department will know for sure.
