Uploading error when MPU6050 is connected

Hey Community,

this is my first post - so be kind

I always get the error code "avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.COM5"" when I try to upload code while the MPU is connected. If the MPU is not connected I can upload the code with no problems

Here are the important facts:

  • Arduino Nano
  • MPU6050
  • Windows 10

Connections are:

  • GND - GND
  • D2 - INT
  • A4 - SDA
  • A5 - SCL
  • 3V3 - VCC (tried 5V too, but then the power led is turning off and the same error occurs)

As code I use the code from the standard example, but I think it doesn't really matter because I can't upload any code when the MPU is connected.

I hope one of you can help, I was looking for solutions for 2 days now...

Cheers,
Malthur

Has anybody an idea how to solve it?

Its not obvious, none of those pins are involved in downloading.

Is the supply voltage OK when the MPU6050 is connected? Maybe its causing the supply to droop?

Unless there is a voltage regulator on the sensor module, it was probably destroyed by applying 5V. Post a link to the exact module.
