Okay, now what the hell. I just tried it on a different pc, it worked. I used the USB cord from that pc and tried it on my own machine again and it still worked. Turns out both cables I used earlier were faulty. Darn it, a week of fiddling around and now this... Well, at least I have a PWM controlled 100W RGB led light now. Woohoo.
