Are you sure you have selected the correct serial port and board in the Arduino menu.
Hello All,
I am a total Newb at Arduino. I have purchased a Osepp Uno card from Fry's electronics. I was having problems getting it to load, but found that I had to set it for the ATMega 328 card and got communications. However I have tried to get it to reconnect this morning and have had no luck. I keep getting this mesage ; avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0xff[/font[/color]]. I have reinstalled the loader, and adjusted the com port to 2. (it was 11 however someone posted it doesn't like anything above 10) I am running windows XP. I even unintalled and reinstalled the port and it shows it working o.k. I get the TX and RX lights to blink together quickly bu it fails with the same message over and over again. My program works, I just cant seem to get comms.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well I found the problem. It seems the power pin on my LCD was Dodge and would not let me reprogram it. As soon as I corrected the LCD issue, I could reprogram it without a hitch. Go figure. After hours of scouring the net, that solution never came up.
