Uploading problems with Mac and Linux on Uno R4

Hi
Am having issues with uploading R4 on both Mac and Linux platforms

Error messages - Mac
No device found on cu.wlan-debug
Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 1

Ports status below for ~R3 and R4

Works OK with R3

Similar issues with Linux - am able to get port allocated for the R3 using the internet search removal fix but nothing works for the R4 - the port is always greyed out.

Am using IDE V2.1.1

What version of the Mac OS do you have?

Sometimes on a first plug in of the R4 you get this message, but try again and it will pick the right one. Well that is what I found anyway.

No problems using Uno R4 WiFi on Ubuntu Linux 22.04. The board appears as /dev/ttyACM0.

And on my MacOS Mojave it shows up with a more long winded but functional name

I am using Ventura 13.4.1 (22F82)

I get that port with my E3 but the R4 gives me nothing, I have tried many internet tricks to stop the brille functionality grabbing the com ports by uninstalling but I am running blind.

Sorry I have not got a machine that runs that OS. I did just try and update to R4 on my M1 macOS Monterey and it runs fine, although I do get some warnings I did not have on my laptop. I suppose the warning settings are different.

By the way I am running Arduino IDE 1.8.19 which I think is different to what you are using.

could you try to upgrade the firmware of the esp32 following this steps? Release Release 0.2.0 · arduino/uno-r4-wifi-usb-bridge · GitHub

I upgraded my iMac to Ventura 13.4.1 and it still works. Programming the LED matrix.

Hi there
I started to do the upgrade of the esp32 but my ubuntu was not having it so I have decided to reload ubuntu alongside a win 10 installation so I have a chance with one of them.

Sadly holidays are upon me and my wife has ordered me to do this.

I will come back in a few weeks

Thanks for advising. After my holidays I will get back onto it.
