Uploading to Arduino nano gets stuck on "Writing"

Hello,
Im using arduino nano on my win10 64x.
I've been searching for a few days now for a solution and I will be forever grateful for every help that i can get.

I did everything as specified : chose the right board, the right processor and the right port.
I an not using a Chinese clone, but an original arduino. (checked it from the backside of the processor - FT232R)
I have installed the drive and opened IDE not through a shortcut. Tried pressing the reset button on the board, But nothing works.

strangely enough, if i try uploading something simple (blink for example) everything works fine.

If I enable the "show verbose output during output" option i notice that when uploading, the program gets stuck on "writing" - image attached.
In the end. I always get the same error message :
please help  I really don't know what else i can do...

Problem uploading to board.  See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

help ? :frowning:

STK500 is a nuisance error and can be a pita to find.

However the forum is littered with them so I would suggest further reading or even using the SEARCH option.

Best I can offer is this.
