Hello, I have developed a portable GSM alarm system that naturally requires the use of batteries.
So, I have space for 1 x 18650 in which I utilized the use of "5V/2.1A Out UPS mobile power" from china only to realize that it powers the unit from the battery even if mains is available. Which doesn't make any sense.
So all that is required is to power the board from a 5v/3A adapter and once fails from the battery.
The maximum current required is 2A.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Can you not arrange to charge the battery in the current power supply whilst it is powering your project ?
Then a relay is required and it may interrupt GSM module operation.
Why would a relay be required ?
The 18650 is powering the project. Connect a charger to the 18650 to keep it charged. If the power fails then the 18650 continues to power the project with no interruption
I'll be having 2 power inputs then: One from the charger and the other from a step-up converter (3.7 to 5)
