I'm working on a project where i have 4 proportional hydraulic valves that I want to control with arduino.
They work on a constant power cable, a 3 to 9V pwm signal and a ground cable. I have written a code that sends out an 0,5 to 4,5V pwm signal but now I somehow need to amplify this pwm signal to a 3 to 9V pwm signal (4 times). I used following module for this ( F5305S Mosfet Module PWM Input Steady 4 Channels 4 Route Pulse Trigger Switch DC Controller), but I get a constant 12V from the outpins so I gues this is not the right module for my case.
Can someone help me with this?
There is a lot of confusion about 0-X V pwm signal.
One case is that the (analog) voltage has to be 9V for max.
Another is that voltage can be be anything between 3 and 9 and duty cycle has to be 100% for max.
I'm sorry i wasn't completely clear, the valves work as followed:
first wire= supply voltage (in my case around 12V)
second wire= signal wire (neutral position of the valve = 50% of the supply voltage;
workfield A = 25% - 50% of supply voltage (3V - 6V);
workfield B = 50% - 75% of supply voltage (6V - 9V);
third wire = GND
I now have a code where I produce 4 signals from my Arduino that in neutral give a signal from 2,5V and when i move the joysticks up or down the signal shifts from 0,5V - 2,5V (for workfield A) and 2,5V- 4,5V (for workfield B). Now I just need to scale these signals to the 3V-9V signal that the valves need, and for that I can use some help because I'm not really home in this...
Which Arduino are you using?
Post some info on the valve, datasheet or brand name and exact part number or web link to the seller's page where you bought it.
F5305S is a P-channel non logic level, no good for 3.3 / 5V input.
I only get annoyed browsing that page, zoom in is prevented, and so is opening a picture in a new window. Data regarding the FET's used is virtually non-existent.
@gillian-vermeulen If you don't have the Arduino connected or outputting signal = 0 V, are you still getting 12 V from the module?
