USB-C keyboard on iPhone or iPad

Goal to get an simple keyboard to work with iPhone or iPad with usb-c cable. I have build the keyboard and connect it with usb-c and it works great with my MacBook and PC. But when I connect it though an adapter (supports both data and power) to my iPhone or iPad it do not work.

This is the adapter.

But it works if a use normal usb and connect it with an adapter from Apple like this one:

Board: Adafruit Trinket 5V

Please help me. I need to get this keyboard to work with an none Apple brand adapter.

I used this cable to connect my iPad Pro to a Micro USB based Arduino that can emulate mouse and keyboard and it worked well.

the iPhone (to date) does not have a USB C connector but is using lightning.
