USB-C programming port with USB-A on laptop (possible?)

Hello,

Is it possible to use the USB-C port on Arduino and using a USB-C to USB-A passive convertor communicate with the IDE? Obviously, the USB-C functionality would be reduced greatly but for basic power and serial communications it might be enough.

[USB-C (port Arduino)] ---> [USB-C to USB-A] --> [USB-A (PC)]

Welcome to the forum

It never occurred to me that what you described would not work. I use a USB A to USB C cable, albeit without a C to A converter, all the time with a Uno R4 board and a Nano ESP32 board, both of which have USB C sockets on them

It seems OK and life is full of taking chances. :slight_smile: I'll post here my results. I will just order the small converter

If you don't already have the converter on hand, it might make more sense to just buy a USB A to USB C cable. Such cables are available for a low price from any store that sells computer equipment.

Using a standard USB-C to USB-A cable works perfect. I was a little hesitant about doing it but with the help here it plugged it in and everything was fine.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks, found an old one laying around from cell phone past and it worked great.
