USB OTG Question

I downloaded ardunio droid, as well as acfew other apps that claim to be able to upload to the uno board.
When i do this it says not detected, even when i also plug in tge 9v barrel jack for power.

The OTG cable i have is the type of usb just before the newer type C end, so im usung an adapter to turn the end into type C.

My phone is a android galaxy 8+

Dont want to order an OTG cable with type end as default if my phone itself is the issue.

Thanks.

I have a Galaxy Note 8 (yet...) and Arduino Droid works like a charm.
Make sure your mobile has OTG function and it should work.
And don't forget to check the app permissions

I found the issue basically my OTG cord was how many USB that is pretty much the same as the type C but with those angled edges instead of round, using the little paste that converted it from the mini to the type C in between the phone and OTG was the cause, I dug out my old tablet that didn't need the converter and it worked fine however Arduino Droid it's not installable on how old that tablet was so I went and bought a brand new OTG type c and it works fine now however I still cannot get it to detect the board but it is being powered at least I saw a post saying some Android devices need to have a USB hub in between the OTG and phone to get the board to detect I'm going out to buy one of those today to see.

Yes, at least mine needs the OTG adapter. Something like this
