USB programmer with ATMEGA8/168

Hi people,

Surfing in the web I found this project about an USB programmer that use an ATMEGA8/48 for interface USB/Serial.

http://www.fischl.de/usbasp/

I wanna know if the ATMEGA8 could be changed for an ATMEGA168, and if I can use the same software on the chip avaible for download in this site.

Know someone about another project like that where I can use an ATMEGA168 as the programmer?

Thanks!

most of the difference tween the 2 chips is memory (and maybe top clock speed) It should work fine with a 168

So… I will try this project with ATMEGA168, and if works fine I post my experience here. Thanks!
