USB type A with a midi controller

I've tried to connect an usb type a port on the arduino uno to connect a launchpad, but when the lauchpad is connected, it stay on for like 3 seconds and then shutdown, then restart for 3 seconds etc...

The usb port is connected to 5v, gnd and tx/rx with a resistance of 10kohms.

It is possible to connect an usb type a port to an arduino to provide supply for a midi controller and to get the data of it?

Have a nice day.

No, an Uno cannot talk to MIDI USB device such as a Novation Launchpad. A USB host shield can add this capability.

Do not connect UART Tx/Rx to USB data lines. This does not work and may damage the USB device.
