usb2serial light - programmer not resonding

Hey

Im working on a project using ATMega328-pu on a breadboard, with the internal clock. Bootloader burned, and using a uno (R3) with the chip removed i can program the breadboard no problem, and my project run fine.

However, seems like a wast of an uno! so i got the usb2serial Light adaptor and im unable to program the board. Ive also just to make sure its not me doing something weird, programed it with the uno and then swapped all the cables to the usb2serial and hit program again, i then get programmer is not responding.

Just to rule out and hardware issues I've used a few usb cables (mini for the serial adaptor) and used the same usb port as i used for the uno.

Im a bit stumped!

any advice?
