So I have the need to use a USBasp to program a uC for a project. I have little idea of how to do it and it just doesn't want to upload. my latest error message is

Anyway to get the program on would greatly be appreciated.

note. I have tried in-circuit programming, and some board that came with the programmer, now it is currently bread boarded

Can you be a little less vague?
Like which uC, to start?

Hi, as Crossroads says, we need to know the uC and the IDE environment you are using?
Above is the howto manual.
