Use andriod phone as the power source for arduino

I am wondering is it possible to use a usb connect to a andriod phone and use its battery as power source to operate the arduino?

There are many, many different Android phones. Try it and see.

If the phone supports USB host, you can use an OTG USB cable to power your arduino. Works with my nano on my blackberry passport.

ever since this post, I've found it to be quite convenient to plug my arduino into my phone for power to show people my little projects. the arduino on its own takes very little power.
