hi everybody
im new at electronics.
i have a broken sony vhs.
so i almost totally disassemble it to use some of the parts in my arduino projects.
but how can i predict which parts are useful and which are not?
does it worth keeping the junk?
otherwise im gonna get rid of it.

you could de-solder the capacitors and resistors!
then you would need to find out what type they are! 
Junk parts are always useful, and old VHS players are good sources of components. You got buttons, capacitors, resistors, diodes, led's, and motors. some mechanical parts like gears and belts can also be useful.
