Using 2 cameras on one arduino??????

Hi folks,

I really wonder that if I can use two camera shields on one arduino and which arduino board can help me to do that? The cameras should record at the same time.

help me dear arduino masters!!

What camera shield are you using? I have a radioshack camera module and it use the Arduino's UART to send commands to the camera to take pictures. If you have that module then you can hook up as many as you want.

hi, I want to use 2 OV5642 cameras (http://www.arducam.com/camera-modules/5mp-ov5642/) to take pics and videos. Is that possible?

It may be possible to use 2 cameras and take pictures, but video with a reasonable fps-rate requires a lot of RAM and a faster microcontroller. If you check the videos on the site, you'll notice they all are time-lapse videos.

Perhaps the Arduino Due is fast enough to handle "normal" video of 1 camera, other arduinos probably aren't up to the task.
