Using 3.5mm jacks with a breadboard?

How would I use a mono 3.5mm jack with a breadboard? I bought a few of these, but I don't think I can use them with a breadboard:

Are there 3.5mm jacks out there that are ready to be plugged into a breadboard? I tried to locate one on the digikey website, but came out unsuccessful. Thanks!

Yeah, those are difficult, and not designed for such use. Your best bet would be to take some cut legs from components (if you don't have any from assembling circuits, remember to save a few when you get around to it - they are handy to have) or other stiff wire of the proper size (diameter), and solder them to the terminals. Make each about a half-inch (5-7mm) in length and bend them to fit on the breadboard.

or get a bit of perfboard and solder the jack to it, then solder some male headers on it

I think SparkFun has a breakout board for that, at least for the mono or stereo jacks. Perfboard is cheaper, if you have some.
